I had great luck preparing for my last Super Spartan just following the Spartan WODs that they will send you in the email. Some light weightlifting on top of that may not be bad, depending on what you like. The Spartan workouts are pretty challenging, and involve all of the running and calisthenics you could want. Many of them even involve weights like sandbags and kettlebells.
