Buddy Lee vs. Rx Jump Rope

Hello CrossFit world.

My old, cheap jump rope broke last week so it is time to buy a new one.

I have been hearing really great things about the Rx Jump Rope available on Facebook. And of course I have read lots of good things about the Buddy Lee rope.

I am wondering if there is anybody out there who has used both and has an opinion as to which is better and why.

Peace and Double Unders,

Smidty

Re: Buddy Lee vs. Rx Jump Rope

I didn't like my Buddy Lee. Spun a little too slow for me.

I tried an RX rope a couple weeks ago and liked it. Plus, I'd rather support somebody in the community.

Re: Buddy Lee vs. Rx Jump Rope

Just curious, isn't Buddy Lee considered part of the Crossfit community?

I recall seeing several videos where he was teaching various aspects of the jump rope to a class of 20-25 people a couple years ago, and didn't know if something changed. I know people have had some issues with his ropes but was just curious. I know different 'experts' have come in & out of the CF fold over the years.

Ron,

I meant somebody who is actively training at a local affiliate. Sorry that wasn't clear.

Re: Buddy Lee vs. Rx Jump Rope

I probably should have written a testimonial quite a while ago. I was first introduced to Rx Jump Ropes at the San Diego/Arizona sectional. We bought 12 ropes from David at that time. Our clients loved them and my second time using an Rx Jump Rope I set a new PR of 130 double unders. We have bought several more, and they are all going strong. We have not had to replace a single part on any of the ropes. The only reason we have had to replace them is when people have stolen them because they like them so much.

David provided ropes for our team that they used at the southwest regionals and at the Home Depot center. On both occasions, those workouts were our best of the competition. My team came up to me after the workout at regionals saying how much they liked the ropes and how much of a difference they made. Many had previously been using Buddy Lee ropes.

For years we have been looking for ropes that performed well and were durable. Until these ropes came along nothing fit the bill. There were ropes that performed well, but fell apart and other ropes that did not perform well and still fell apart. These ropes perform better than anything we have tried and are built to last. I can not say enough good things about them.

Buddy Lee Jump Ropes are nice, but not as nice as the Rx Jump Ropes. Our clients like the Rx ones better, they have set better PR's and every single one of the Buddy Lee ropes we had has either had to have a cable replaced or has fallen apart all together.

Not to steal any thunder from the Rx ropes, but how do they compare to the Rogue ropes?
