WOW - i know for a fact how heavy and hot that gear gets and just how awkward it can be doing movements in it.

Awesome job Fred - really top notch. Way to represent brotha!

Here is a link to 3 of us doing it a while back. We called it "Fran on Fire" and included the airpack. We were going to try it on air but the regulator from the mask interfered with the bar on the thrusters. http://jupiter.sonzexercise.com/vide...n_Fire.mwv.flv w/f/safe

Re: Firefighter Fran

Wow! Impressive! Doing a Fran with a 30min bottle would be quite the challenge.

Re: Firefighter Fran

Dude, you guys have no idea how awesome this was. Fred put a **** eating grin on my face for the rest of the day. It was awesome. You cannot hear it in the background (nor could he, with all that gear) but he wanted me to play him this buzzsaw overheated heavy metal music which nearly scorched my brain as bad as the workout. I bet when he saw the video cut to Foo Fighters he died inside, just a little.........

I propose tis becomes the thread of immense doings while suited up. I remember how toasty I was during my fire training at OIS, I have never sweated so much, not during a painstorm, not ever. Very cool experience.

What kind of times do you guys put up packed up vs. normal. Also I couldn't get the video to play well. When you are doing pullups for reps do your shoulder straps come loose/do you have a solution?
I will try pulling your video up at work to inspire others. We have gotten other FF's involved with CF by challenging them to WOD's where the CFers will be packed up and the others in gym clothes "to make it fair". Keep posting videos they will help the cause

Re: Firefighter Fran

Johnny Mac best Fran is 3:41rx. Todd best is 3:46rx. Tommy is in the 4 minute range.

The shoulder straps loosened a bit but I would just tighten them in between sets.

Re: Firefighter Fran

Im glad I found this thread. Im from Albany and was looking at getting into CrossFit. I have a CPAT for Albany Fire hopefully within the next 2 months (they keep pushing it back). I heard there was a crossfit albany from a friend but he didnt know anymore details. So hopefully I will be bouncing around in the Albany CrossFit threads. Any tips for starting CrossFit?
