this is not a real injury, but unusual nonetheless. Over the years, I have pulled my back and hamstrings doing the DL. I have started wearing pants when I DL because of shin scraps.

Tuesday, I was doing one of Rutman's ME 5x3, 3x3 DL workouts. Into my 3rd set I noticed my left forearm skin buring. My skin was getting raw on my forearm from rubbing up against my pants. Strange. I chalked it and it helped the rest of the workout. Now I look like I have a rug burn on my arm. It was a good workout, but my arms must have been closer to my body than before. Is this good or bad? or just an occupational hazard?

Sounds like either your legs are too wide or your arms are too narrow - your arms should not be touching your legs.

Thanks. I think arms too close was the culprit. I deadlift alot and this was the first time I did this one. I think it may have been a different bar with narrower markers b/n the knurling. I'll pay attention next time, although I was getting close to PR levels.
