Whats ya Cals at?

I've been trying my fitness pal app, for the first time today. It's just before dinner and ive already had 2214 calories. 163 g of carbs , 92 g of fat , 182 g of protein, and 11 g of sugar. I have about 1000 calories left to play with for a slight surplus .


How many calories a day do you take in? And if you dont mind, how much do you weigh? Just curious

Hey Bob,

I'm on MFP as well.

5'7", 166 lbs, 15-17% BF (haven't checked in a month). Right now I'm eating about 2200 Calories a day. I don't eat back exercise calories.

My TDEE is about 2700 (but that is probably high because I have a weak metabolism), which is factored for moderate exercise (3-5 hours a week), but right now I'm a fat burning stage, so I'm eating at a slight deficit and not lifting too heavy. In a month, I'll switch back to a "build-up stage" and probably eat around 3000 a day and cut the strict cardio.

Look for me on there, there is a bunch of CF people. CWSpiegel is my username. You take in a ton of calories, but the numbers look clean...wondering what you eat to get it that high.

I try to hit 3000, which is low and a lot of the times I end up below. I'm 5'10 180 lbs. Just calculated my usual protein shake is over 500 cals, so I'm going to start adding one or two of those per day and that should help greatly.

I was 181 this morning, typically I consume 4,500-6,000 calories a day. Mostly carbs though.

As of this morning my weight is at 175.8lbs. I'm 5'8". I haven't tracked my calories for over year but I know yesterday I easily ate 4,000 calories (deadlifted in the morning) was starving. Anything and everything is sight was consumed.

Nice. For me to gain a 1/2 pound a week (I'm 6'3" at 213), it says I need to eat 3130 cal. I could easily hit 4000.

After dinner I'm at 2936 cal, 212 g carbs, 129 g fat, 241 g protein, and 23 g sugar.

I started out the morning with a glass of skim milk and an Ezekiel muffin. Then I ate 5 eggs and another muffin. About a half hour later I ate some turkey sausage and 3 egg whites. Then I drank some Emergen c in water. That was breakfast.. It was 1200 cal LOL.

Lunch was 2 chicken breast and Ezekiel bread. A few hours later another 2 chicken breast. And an Ezekiel English muffin with natural peanut butter.

Then dinner was a salad, 4 eggs and more Ezekiel bread haha.

I'm trying to get my carbs up. Before bed I will have a Met Rx MRP which will give me another 300 cal. That'll put me around 3500 cal for the day . I'm being conservative today. I've easily eaten twice what I have today, before.

Nice.you must have a fast metabolism or high muscle mass, or both lol.

I'm only eating around 1800kcal per day at the moment atempting to get sub 10% fat.

I eat at 12pm, 4pm and 8pm following an intermittent fasting model (16 hours)

I am high protein, moderate fat, very low carb. 100% strict Paleo.

5'10" 84kg (185lbs)

I train with weights at least 4days a week. Usually at 8am.

That's a very low amount of calories unless you are a small/slight person. I'd be careful. Go too low into a caloric deficit, and your body won't let go of extra bodyfat as it thinks its being starved.
