Re: Official WordPress users thread.

If you are not a developer yourself you'll want to find one that very closely fits your desired look and feel. There are literally thousands out there so it's hard to suggest just one.

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

i haven't posted anything on the CF boards for about 2 1/2 years (by strange coincidence my son is now 2 1/2 years old now...) - during that time i've been quietly building LogsItAll.com next gen and working with a few CF friends to test and evolve. The next gen LogsItAll just launched and interfaces nicely with WordPress (and pretty much any other CF box site). If anyone wants to take the demo account for a test drive please let me know. LIA has been around since 2007 and supports CF workouts and many others - now interfaces with Mind Body Online and Front Desk HQ as well.

feel free to reach out to admin@logsitall.com w/ questions.

ps. apologies in advance if this is the wrong thread location for this post.

Hi again, Mike. Although it's taken me too long to respond, I hope this still helps.

A good basic theme actually comes pre-installed with WordPress (twenty fourteen). It's stable, well-designed, and fast. However, it's pretty boring and unoriginal.

There are free themes available on WordPress.org, just search at this link for "fitness" "crossfit" or similiar terms and see if anything comes up: http://wordpress.org/themes/

If you've got a bit of cash on-hand, I did a quick search and found this "fitness" theme for sale for $55 from a fairly-reputable theme shop: http://t2themes.com/themes/workout/demo (the link will take you to a demo version of what the theme looks like with sample content).

That theme I linked to looks really nice, but it'll be difficult to set up if you're not comfortable with dragging & dropping, resizing and/or cropping images, etc.

As mentioned, there are thousands of these things out on the internet ranging from free to "premium" (aka paid). Here are a couple more I found:

http://themeforest.net/item/getfit-g...hor=SkatDesign

http://themeforest.net/item/fit-fitn...r=DanyDuchaine

Here's another post from this forum as well, same general subject: http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=78311

Just let me know if you have any questions, and I'd be happy to help.

Matt

Free WordPress Plugin for WODs

I released a WordPress plugin that will let you manage your WODs separately from your posts and pages on your WordPress site.

It uses the native WordPress interface, so it's very easy to get started.

It's 100% free and open source.

I need some feedback so I can know what direction to head in with the plugin next. Some ideas I'm considering are:
  • making it very easy to post the WOD from WordPress to Twitter and Facebook or other social sites
  • giving more flexibility/control over how the WODs are displayed and where they are located on the site

I don't want to develop too much without feedback from the CrossFit community, so I am hoping all of you WordPress users will check it out and provide some feedback to me.

Here's the link to the plugin, which has been approved for hosting on the official WordPress repository and has about 42 downloads at this point:

Does anyone have a plugin they recommend for doing electronic waivers?

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

SmartWaiver recently released a WordPress plugin that works with its paid service:

http://wordpress.org/plugins/smartwaiver-waiver-widget/

I know a few affiliate owners who use SmartWaiver. They also have a free trial. I think it's a 30-day trial...plenty of time to see if it fits your needs.

Good luck!

Re: Official WordPress users thread.

I was looking at that thanks. Any custom forms you can do something like that with?

I recommend the Gravity Forms plugin for WordPress, but I've also heard Ninja Forms are very good.

Here are links:

http://ninjaforms.com

The form builder plugins are drag, drop, and fill out. It shouldn't be too hard to build a custom form with your waiver terms.
