rate affiliate programming
due to new constraints ( can't train at university anymore, long story) I'm going to try and train at a local box now, however my goal are to increase strength and work capacity ( which cffb would do of rme) but i have to do the affiliates programming if i go there.
can anyone take a look at this and tell me if it'd be possible to still get stronger following this type of program. http://www.portcrossfit.com/ (WFS) |

Re: rate affiliate programming
Looks to be well balanced. It has strength training every day followed by a short Metcon.

Re: rate affiliate programming
It looks like they program a strength + conditioning piece pretty much every day. As long as you devote the necessary effort to the strength work, there's no reason you shouldn't see some strength gains (assuming you're keeping up with recovery outside of the gym). Generally speaking, the real secret to success is in the effort, not the minor nuances from program to program.

Re: rate affiliate programming
I don't understand the A1 A2 B etc notation they've used on a few of the wods, but the programming looks pretty good. I'd do it.
On their website they also said they can do personalised programs, why don't you enquire about that? I'm more curious about why you got kicked out of the univ gym. |

Re: rate affiliate programming
Generally an A1, A2, or B1, B2, B3 is a way of notating a superset, so you would complete all sets of exercises in set A before going on to set B.

Re: rate affiliate programming
i just emailed the coach, and he basically explained how they have a strength bias in their programming etc. it looks like it'll fit my goals so I'm going to go for it.
and the reason i can't train at university is because they don't allow olympic lifts, you can't do much metcons either bc its cramped, and you can't kip on their bars because it shakes the foundation of the rack |

Re: rate affiliate programming
on a side note I'm pretty excited. I've been cross fitting alone for awhile now and tomorrow will be my first time at a box. anythings i should be aware of (unwritten rules) that i wouldn't know about having never been there
