the Guiness World Record for the maximum # of pushups in one minute is 157. held by a 57 yr man in the USNavy Reserves.

However, the pushups were not exactly the full-ranging chest to floor, but were the variety where the chest just-barely broke the plane at the elbow.

I still consider Tabata pushups a more interesting challenge.

Yeah, I've seen people who try to do "push-ups" like that. If I'm counting reps for them, it goes like this: "zero, zero, zero..."

I saw it on Regis and then tried it. Although they are not full push-ups it was still super challenging to try to get that many in, in one minute.
Did anybody try it that way and get close to the record?

I am sure that a great deal of physical conditioning is needed to do that many half push-ups in a minute. But it is still not a push-up.

Errr guys... not meaning to be controversial, but anybody who can do 157 press-ups in a minute has my respect, full ROM or not.

Not sure why anyone would want to do that type of pushup. Seems that it would train you only to do ....

that type of pushup!
