Re: Tabata Timer

Hans, you are awesome. Just wanted to let you know I have been using this program a lot. I really appreciate it.

Re: Tabata Timer

Save yourself the time and hassle and go buy a Seiko SO57. It's well worth the money. At least if your personality and patience are like mine.

Re: Tabata Timer

Awesome! Thanks, Hans.

Serendipitous timing... I just found CrossFit this weekend, though I bred myself for it for some 24 years. I'll have to post an intro somewhere else, though (this is my first post).

I don't have any equipment, nor even a gym, where I'm at right now, and I'm still recovering from a sprained ankle, so my start in CF is compromised. I wanted to do my first CrossFit exercise last night, and had to start simple, so I chose --- Tabata Push-Ups.

And the immediate question was: How do I time this? I used my cell phone... my wife struggled with her Tabata Squats, she had to hold her cell phone the whole time.

So this tool hits the spot.

I wrote a blog post about it, here: http://faustin.livejournal.com/268399.html --- posted links; I'm assuming this is acceptable -- please let me know if otherwise.

At this point in my life, I find that my patience is in far greater supply than my spare cash - so I think I'll save the $70. Besides, it's not really any hassle. I do my tabata stuff right here in my living room anyway. And the sound effects are quite inspiring.

In accordance with the forum rules (you can read the Announcements or click the link at the top of the page, if for some reason you haven't), all posted links MUST state whether or not they are work and family safe. Please indicate the status of your blog ASAP or I will have to delete it.

Thanks,

$69? Sounds quite much, so I googled and found a interval timer from Gymboss with both vibrating and sounding alert. Haven't tried it, but it looks great! Only $19...

However, most of us have cellphones, right? So Hans' mobile device version will KICK A$$!

Re: Tabata Timer

I scored my GymBoss new on ebay for somthing like $12 shipped to Canada.

This is a sweet little app though and will probably get more use. Especially with a Pocket PC version. I was expecting the end sound to be a chorus of Hallelujah!

Re: Tabata Timer

Lynne -- all,

Sorry, I did not see that requirement -- Yes, my blog IS work & family safe.

Also, I was so unfamiliar with the msgboard's function, I thought I would see emails if there was a response to my post, hence my delay in returning here.

I'm not trying to advertise my blog, it's a non-commercial journal. I just thought I'd mention it because I'd posted links to Hans' Tabata timer and I wanted to know if that was ok.

SW SF FS WS -- so that's what those acronyms are for.
