tractor tire WOD?

Anybody have any creative WODs involving big ol' tractor tires? Got a guy coming over later today to play with the tire, so I need a real smoker.
Thanks, John

Re: tractor tire WOD?

How about 5 rds of 5 flips, 30 sledge strikes and run 200m. If available I would also throw in some swings or thrusters, but I don't know what you have for equipment.

An option for absolutely no equipment would be flips, jumps and feet elevated push-ups.
Maybe 5 rds of 5 flips, 20 jumps and 40 push-ups

Re: tractor tire WOD?

I'm sure you'll get more expertise from later posters, but I'll go ahead and start.
  • Tire Flips (see wf/s video at http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/C...ipBallSlam.wmv)
  • Front/Back and Lateral Jumps either (1) onto top of --or-- (2) over tire (into center hole)
  • Rolling tire (rolling) up a slight incline
  • Pulling tire (rolling --or-- dragging) up a slight incline
  • Climbing inside and rolling down a hill into a freezing pond (just kidding)

I'm sure I'm missing some of the best exercises, but that's a start.
Hope your friend doesn't get too tired

Re: tractor tire WOD?

Thanks guys for your input. Here's what we ended up doing:
5 rounds for time
8 tire flips (to the end of driveway and back)
10 pullups
10 ring dips
10 kb swings 55#
The tire weighs about 400#. Good times.

Re: tractor tire WOD?

Looks like I'm late to respond to this, but nevertheless, I've got one:

Tabata tire fun
8 Tabata intervals each of:
-jump on, in, on, out
-flip it
-whale on it with a 10 lb sledgehammer
-flip it
-jump on, in, on, out

Scored as total reps.

I have tires, in Lockport. I don't know what a WOD is, but give me a call if you need any. I deliver them for $75.
