Getting HQs Permission For Content

Hey forum,

I was toying with the idea of creating a mobile app for Crossfit and figured I could come to the boards in a time of need.

I wanted to find out if anyone (maybe HQ is reading this thread) knows how to get in contact with HQ or CF legal regarding getting permission to use the workout content. I really want to make sure I do my due diligence before investing any time into a mobile application. I've already called the main line in Washington DC and left multiple voicemails and haven't heard back from HQ or legal. I've written emails to customerservice@crossfit.com for the last 2 weeks and still haven't gotten a reply yet.

I was hoping maybe someone on the boards may have gone through what I'm going thru and can point me in the right direction. This mobile app will hopefully be a learning experience for me as I'm a beginning programmer and don't want to get into any legal issues.

Thanks for any help the community can provide me! Happy holidays everyone!

Christopher - he may not ultimately be the man responsible but Dale Saran is one of HQ's legal beagles. You could try sending him a PM through this board and seeing if he can point you in the right direction.

Cheers, kempie

been trying to get in contact with Dale or Steve Weiss, but I can't seem to reach them. Is there an easier way to reach them as opposed to PMs or emails? Thanks guys!

Are you selling the app for profit? Or, is it a freebie for personal use?

Re: Getting HQs Permission For Content

Well I plan on making a free version as well as a paid version. And no, it's not just for personal use. I actually intend, and hope, that a lot of Crossfitters use this app.

I've exchanged emails with Dale but haven't heard from him in over two weeks. I know Dale is a very busy man but I have been trying to reach out to him every week without any success.

If anyone has any tips on how to reach Dale or Steve, I'm am super glad to use it.
