Whats next? What do you "do" with fitness?

When you have "fitness",
When you find it,
When it finds you,
What do you do with it?
What is your continued motivation?

When somebody asks me "Are you training for something? What are you training for?" and their expecting an answer like the Ironman, or some marathon, or UFC or something.

And I tell them nothing really, its just for my health, and my family, and for emergency preparedness, I just get that "oh" and change of subject.

So, what are YOU training for? What do you do with your fitness?

Go from sea level to 7000 feet, then tackle a hike with a 2000 foot elevation change. Then do another hike at 9000 feet the following day. And not be dead the day after.

Being fit is sort of like having money. It gives you options that not-fit people simply don't have.

It's either that or have 'sickness'. You could settle for wellness I guess! **ck that. I'll take fitness.

Re: Whats next? What do you "do" with fitness?

In addition to staying fit to be healthy, and to be able to do normal everyday stuff without getting out of breath (walking, going up stairs....things that many of my friends and family can not do without wheezing)....I want to be fit so that I can have a great time doing all the activities in life that are so freakin' fun.....swimming, cycling, skating, surfing, skiing. So many other things I could put on that list, but I can barely squeeze in all of this stuff as it is!

Adds to the richness of life. Adds adventures and experiences. Adds to the list of things you can have a great time doing with friends. Adds a whole lot of laughter, and helps build great character and a strong work ethic.

Like Katherine said, it gives you options that non-fit people don't have.

One of the first Crossfit T-shirts I saw sums it up for me "Training not to suck at life." Maybe there's another T-shirt slogan that comes to mind "Training to look better naked."
