Eric's Workout Log

I'll keep track of my workouts here and maybe even my diet. I'm not sure how it'll end up, but I like the idea of keeping track online. I run, swim, lift, metcons, and starting this week, I'll be doing MMA. It looks like a pretty tough schedule, but I have too much time on my hands. I need something to do. I'm coming off an ankle sprain, so I'm sure it'll take a few days to get the gears going. This summer I have limited equipment, so I won't always be able to do the WOD or lift very heavy, but once school starts next month, I won't have any excuses.

First workout back since injuring my ankle. The swelling is almost down and I felt alright during the workout. I won't be running anytime soon but at least if I can't walk tomorrow, it'll be because of a little hard work and not the ankle sprain.

110808 1300
As many squats as possible in 10 minutes:
357 reps

I've also been supplementing my workouts with some extra pushups because I find that pushups usually limit how fast I can finish a workout like Angie or Murph.

Pushups (60 seconds rest)
27, 20, 20, 17, 27

An hour of Muay Thai. My first martial arts class in months - it feels good to be back. I didn't do anything else today, I wanted to do my first class as fresh as possible.

An hour of submission wrestling. This really hurt my ankle. The next day it was really swollen. Getting caught in an ankle lock really sucked. I love grappling.

Push-ups: 27, 21, 21, 18, 25 with 90 seconds rest.

50 push press (45 lbs.)
50 back extensions
50 sit-ups
3 rounds for time: 15:41 min.

I had to switch the jump rope/tuck jumps with a different movement. I'll have to do this until the ankle gets better. I'll have to take it easy tonight with baseball.

An hour of baseball.

Re: Eric's Workout Log

FRI 29 AUG 08
My foot is starting to heal, so I jumped back into the mix. I've been doing submission wrestling and muay thai since I've hurt it, but today was the first time in the gym in a long time. I'm noticing the summer has done more harm then good for my conditioning. It's time to pick myself back up and set some new personal records.

AM -
Tabata run. Moderate pace, kept a close eye on how my ankle felt. 20 sec on, 10 sec off, 12 rounds.

PM -
Back Squat 45x10, 135x5, 175x5, 225x5,5,5
Bench Press 45x10, 135x5, 175x5, 205x5,5,5
* If my warm-up for my bench is the same as my back squat, the squat will probably require a little more effort next time.

10 x 55 Dumbbell swing
5 x Burpee
5 x 65 Sumo Deadlift High-Pull
5 rounds, on the minute.
* I feel like I've lost conditioning, this should be much improved next time.

Row 500m
1:32
* Last PR was 1:27. I know I can back there soon.
