So this guy Ravussin does a study on exercise and diet to see which contributes to weight loss more. Quote, "There is a concept that if you exercise, you are going to lose less of your muscle," he said. But his team found no evidence this is true.

If you read the details on the study, the subjects did self-selected exercise on either a treadmill, a stationary bicycle, or a Stairmaster. And they lost muscle mass, the same amount that the diet-only group did. The cardio did not help maintain muscle mass. Well.... duh.

Cardio is as useful for maintaining muscle mass as an accordian is for hunting for deer.

Arggh... yet another "expert" who thinks the only form of exercise in the world is cardio.

Your analogy is flawed Lincoln as I have been hunting deer by accordian for years. :lol:

This is one of those studies my mom will hear about, and if I hadn't heard the rest (that is was only aerobic exercise) I'd have difficulty defending my point from her attack. This will probably get thrown around like the one about not drinking a lot of water because it will kill you! ( irrational fear of hyponatreamia <sp?>)
