Today's WOD as a newcomer

Hi all

I notice that todays WOD (5 x 800m run, 30 swings, 30 pull ups).

30 pull ups for me seems a lot... especially given that i have to repeat it 5 times.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to do it but the pull ups will be in sets of 5 (probably diminishing to sets of 2!!) - is this the best way to go about this type of workout??

Advice please.

Thanks

150 pull-ups done in ones and twos is not a good idea (unless you are doing a grease the groove type program and spend the whole day doing it). If you can only do 5 pull-ups in a row I'd say do 10 per round. You'll probably also want to tone down the kettlebell swings as well, say use a 1.5 pood bell and do 15 swings. Better yet go to the brandx website and look at the scaling options they'll provide. They don't scale down the pull-ups as much as I would suggest but they have been scaling workouts for people far longer than I ever have.

IF you haven't heard of brandx and scaling yet, then you probably have not read the "start here' section or the FAQ. Highly recommended that you do both.

I would not do more then 75 pullups total if I was you. Good luck and have fun.

Brian,

You're about 1,200 miles away but I can feel your frustration.
