Re: A Bears Tale

Keep up the good work Scott.

Might have some heavy d balls again this year.. 120-150#. They keep on upping the weights. 2014 was 80# and 2015 was 100#.

Funny Craig E sent me a message that he was not going to compete because he had and injury that required surgery on a Friday. Then on Monday I read that he was going to compete injured or not. Kind of ruined my weekend with stress checking the email for the invite. I am glad that it was me who has been before. I could not have imagined someone going for the first time then finding out that they guy changed his mind. I am sure he owes me some sort of amends. But I have a feeling that next year if its a foot race I will chase him down unlike the other side of the pond smoker who missed out on the win.. lol.

I would be surprised if HSPU or HS Walks were not in it. The big fellas got lucky when no hspu in last years games. Was kind of sad to see them go.. my wheelhouse.

AA Bike might rear its ugly head.

Cheers
Vic

Vic, if he is having surgery then he must be stupid to compete... it might be important but not that important. I hope to watch you at the games.... via my ipad

Re: A Bears Tale

Hello Vic,

I see a post on Facebook from Craig E saying he was still going to the games, I didn't really understand it but guessed it meant something like an injury. If he informs you that he's withdrawing then surely he should inform you if he changes he's mind.

It wasn't the lungs that let me down on that footrace, it was my lack of pace changing, my running is good as long as I can go for a long distance and a fast pace, sprinting is not my thing.

Also I made a huge mistake with the D-ball last year, I took my shirt off, got the ball all sweaty then got myself a slippery ball.

Sean - I don't mind the post but why not put the same post on Vic's log, it doesn't matter if he's PM box is full.

Re: A Bears Tale

1 June 2016

On the 0:00

Power Clean at 75% - EMOM x 9 94k

On the 12:00

Power Snatch at 75% - EMOM x 9 67.5k

On the 24:00

4 sets of 20 Unbroken Deadlifts 102k - 3.56

Reckon I could probably go a bit faster on the deads, held off to make sure I could get the last set unbroken and got it quite easily.

7 x 100m Hill sprints - over a bridge in Witham

10 minutes Handwalking practice - Vic tells me it's easy on the stadium floor so won't sweat too much about this

Re: A Bears Tale

3 June 2016

For time:

18-15-12 reps of:

Calorie Row
Power Snatch 43k

Straight into:

18-15-12 reps of:

Toes to bar
Overhead Squats 43k - 12.52

Handstand Push ups -
20 reps with a 5 inch deficit kipping

5 min amrap:

Legless Rope climbs 7 reps. Touching at the top without latching the legs around the rope by instinct is hard. I can see how people no repped these very easily.

Re: A Bears Tale

The hand stand walks were on the old track way before your time. LOL.. was super hot! William walker kicked up for a 155' unbroken to take the event. I was in second place with a 100' er. To tell you the truth it was embarrassing watching the masters doing this event. Some of the OG's in the 40 did not even get 10'. Heck one of them did 12' feet and got scored 120'. Maybe HQ won't program these because it was so bad for camera and the crowd.

Air *** Bike- might rear the ugly head. But thinking that they might do a 50 cal thing in a chipper. So that you go medium then get to work. The age old saying you won't win the event on the AAB but you could sure lose the event with it.

True form runner.. maybe.. I liked the running last year up hills but it did not really factor in the results. I would have loved something that you could go all out like the individuals did with the run and the yolk carry.

Looks like x fit might finally be going away from straight out re bounding box jumps.

Will be so fun to watch you scorch the comp.

Re: A Bears Tale

I've never had the pleasure of the AA bike yet, I'm guessing in a chipper you go like on the rowing machine, smooth and keeping yourself ready for what's next.

What makes you think CF is moving away from rebounding box jumps? Personally I always use box jumps to get my breath back and have never worried about learning the rebound, to much chance of snapping my achilles to use them in training, I always step down pop up quick.

Good luck with your competition with the youngsters, sure you will play more than your part in the team.
