Re: How have we arrived at this place in our evolution ?

Pretty much. I read the other day that the younger generation could be the first one that has a shorter life expectancy than their parents.
When I worked with youth soccer I saw more and more fat kids every season. I mean 12-14 year olds that could not run a lap without stopping.
I drop my kids off at school I see more overweight kids going into the school.
Of course if my age group had 200 Hi Def channels and video games the quality of the ps3-360 we might have spent less time outside playing and more time on the couch.

You want to know how?
-No discipline or personal responsibilites in our youth
-TV, video games, internet, i-phones, ect
-Laziness and gluttoney
-Political correctness to accept everyone for everything shoved down our throats.
-Want it now socioety means when you want to eat you grab something processed beyond oblivion with chemicals galore that cooks in 5 seconds as opposed to taking the time to cook real food.

WIN. Maby add on that we sit at home, watch porn on one screen, play games on another, text, listen to our ipod insanely loud, eat taco bell, and if there is enough time, scratch our balls.

This times infinity. We pretty much created a culture of mediocrity that fails to live up to the example of our forfathers in the WW2 generation.

Yep and because of political correctness we are forced to accept this mediocrity because if we tell people they are half-assed, lazy, ignorant slobs then we are made to feel like we don't "accept them for who they are".

OMG - fat acceptance!!! Ha ha - that actually made me laugh, and I mean proper laugh!!
I will go on the record to say that I do not accept fatness! I never will. I object to it on every level! Especially when I get sandwiched in next to a fatty on a long flight!
You have to feel sorry for the kids though - they get indoctrinated to the fat lifestyle by lazy parents. Mind you, its all hormonal anyway isn't it?!!!

Re: How have we arrived at this place in our evolution ?

Some people do have a genuine genetic disorder which makes it extremely easy for them to pack on fat, but for most people, it's sheer laziness. How has society come to the point where pharmaceutical companies are developing pills to help control obesity, when we could prevent the problem from occurring by encouraging a healthy diet, and an active, energetic lifestyle instead.
