You know, I was doing a WOD the other day with three separate runs. I could not get Slacker going on two different smart phones. Just kept cutting out. Spent most of the first two runs trying (which killed my already pathetic time) and gave up on the third and did it with no music.

Half the time I was thinking I miss my old cassette walkman. That never happened. Press play and you have immediate music. Auto reverse, never have to do anything. Miss the old days.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Wow. Overheard this conversation (this YMCA gym is next to a dental college):
------
Female: Oh, hi! You come here too? I see a lot of guys from our classes here.

Male: Oh, yeah. We do CrossFit a lot. It's pretty intense.

Female: Is that what you guys do? Do you belong to a CrossFit gym?

Male: No, we do it here.

Female: It's pretty hardcore. I'm impressed. Anyway, I think I'm going to try deadlifts. Can you give me any advice.

Male: Have you done them before?

Female: No.

Male: You should start on this Smith Machine here, with no weight. Let me show you...

-------

It went downhill from there. Actually, one of the YMCA trainers stepped in at some point and told her she shouldn't do deadlifts on the Smith machine.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Saw a real special one last night. Guy was wearing short cut off jean shorts and a white wife beater but the real kicker was his water bottle. It was a gallon jug of olive oil that he had filled up with water (no he wasn't drinking olive oil, at least it didn't look green lol). He didn't even take the label off so there he was carrying around a jug labeled olive oil to take swigs off of.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

i just had the most face-palm moment at globogym today, i just got told off for doing double unders at the gym; the 'trainer' (and i use that term as loosely as a hooker's *ahem*, sorry to be crude) literally said "you're not allowed to do skipping at this gym, its not allowed, you could hurt yourself"

you can't make this stuff up....

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

I was deadlifting on base today and I saw a guy doing a very heavy snatch. I counted up his plates, 315 lbs. This guys was snatching almost as much as I was deadlifting for reps..and doing ring muscle ups in-between sets.

Either I'm slacking or I need to be on the lookout for this guy in the games.
