Re: how did this sound?

You're in boot camp now? Also, why not just sprint 400 meter 10 times with 2 minutes of recovery in between each 400 meter. Then go run as fast as you can for 20 minutes.

I see the point of your workout, but it can be done in a shorter period of time.

I still am having a hard time understanding you. From someone who has been in the military to someone who is going in. Work on your spelling and grammar a little, it will help you in the long run.

Re: how did this sound?

Just pick a program and do it. I've given you advice in other threads but you haven't seemed to take to it. What exactly were you goals (other than better PFT) and where is your fitness level currently at?

Oh, and Marine Corps is capitalized. And there's an "s" on the end of it.

Just out of curiosity: what exactly do you do in the Marines?

I see your town is San Diego, are you at MCRD?

I was 0311 up in Pendleton.

I see you offering a lot of advice pertaining to military and those getting ready for boot camp/recruit training and got curious.

Re: how did this sound?

I'm currently at MCRD SD about 6 weeks from going on terminal leave. I did the series/company commander thing here for two years and have been working in the CG's office for the last year (i.e. about as pogue as it gets). From 2005-2008 I was an 0302 in 3/3.

Re: how did this sound?

Spiffy. I was with 2/1 from 2005-2008. 2004 was spent in recruit training, I enlisted in September. I was also a MCIWS; I drank a lot of pool water in that course.

Anyhow, back on subject.

Cliff, do what Eric suggested; pick a program and stick with it. In the Marines, you'll need both strength and conditioning.

While cardio is good, it's meaningless without strength to go with it. On that same note, all the strength in the world means nothing if you can't make it to the fight.

And if you're not leaving until July, you'll have plenty of time to develop both. And I would honestly focus more on strength. During your runs and humps, as long as you don't fall back/out no one really cares if you're first.

And also what Doug said, grammar is your friend, not only in the military, but in general.
