My old Deadlift PR thread got archived, so I'm making a new thread to continue ... hopefully the updates are frequent enough that it doesn't get trashed again. Here's the old thread for reference: http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/29/41854.html

Here is 565x1 at body weight of 180. It's a 5 pound all time PR, but I wasn't happy with the false start or the overall speed. I need more heavy work!

Nice lift. =)

Don't feel bad, you are the first person to ever false start.

Re: The Road Continues ...

Just a quick update.

I fell off track a couple months ago ... competed in the highland games, built a new house/moved, opened CrossFit Fredericton, etc. Had a lot on my plate and deadlifts kinda got pushed to the side. Excuses, but there ya have it.

Anyway, I haven't forgotten about the goal and I've been working towards it for several weeks. Last session I hit a pretty solid 555. I'm hoping to be in PR territory in a couple of weeks.

Re: The Road Continues ...

Anthony,
Great lift! Just curious why you use the sumo-style DL, with the arms inside the legs? I'm assuming you can pull more weight this way, but would that be the case for most people as well (i.e. more weight using sumo vs. traditional)?

Re: The Road Continues ...

No, it's not always the case. It is definitely harder for me to deadlift sumo style than normal. I suppose it just has to do with how your body is built and what muscles are more naturally stronger.
