First pullup

I know this isn't much compared to all those people getting muscle ups, but it's a huge deal for me! I was able to do two (albeit several minutes apart). I haven't EVER been able to do one in my life, and I only started working out consistantly since June. So yea for me! Next stop...kipping.

Re: First pullup

That is amazing! Great job! Don't compare yourself to other people, just you, and you just got better. That is what matters!

Re: First pullup

That is a BIG deal. Congratulations on your achievement. Pulling one's own weight is no easy feat, especially if it's never been accomplished and frequently tried.

Keep progressing, you have no place to go but forward, up and higher.

Re: First pullup

Pilar: Congratulations!

Back when I was a kid, I could never do a single pullup . . . the first one had *huge* significance. (Still does . . . it was the opening of a door that had seemed closed forever.) I know how incredible it feels to do something you thought you'd never be able to.

Congratulations, and now, through the door and onward!

Re: First pullup

Congratulations!

I'm working very intently to achieve the same thing: a first pull-up. I've been chipping away at it for a few months now, so I KNOW what an accomplishment it is. Hoo-yah! You did it!

Re: First pullup

Pilar-

Don't separate yourself from the athlete category. You are one! You're just as much inspiration if not more than anybody else on this sight. It's great seeing your pull-up in the testimonials!

Re: First pullup

Congrats! Being able to do even one pullup puts you in a class well above most of the population. (i'm still working on my first one) But the important thing is that you're improving. There will always be athletes that can totally outpace you, if you keep comparing yourself to others you'll just end up discouraged. Just think about the progress you have made personally. I know thats what keeps me motivated.
