Protein and plain water

I need some opinions on which protein to use in plain water. I am partial to chocolate but the biggest thing I am lookiong for is that it doesn't taste like protein powder in water. I know...that's what it is but I want something I like to drink and it's much more convenient for me to do protein in water at work than anything else.

from samples I've had - Progrenex tastes great in water although it is a rip off IMO.

Find a fridge and get some milk.

Re: Protein and plain water

I usually do my protein in water at competitions because it's easier than lugging a gallon of milk around. I find no matter the brand you use, it is more palatable with not-ice-cold water. Mixes better too.

Skip vanilla, go with stronger flavors.

AtLarge's coffee flavor tastes good in water. So does cake batter or cinnamon bun from Muscle Gauge Nutrition.

Re: Protein and plain water

I like getting vanilla, because I can add other things to it to give it more variety. Here are some I have tried:

Vanilla protein + coffee = iced protein latte
Vanilla protein + chocolate + coffee = iced protein mocha
Vanilla protein + orange gatorade = Liquid Orange Dreamsicle
Vanilla protein + fruit punch powerade = Protein Strawberry milk
Vanilla protein + chocolate + coffee + coconut milk = Pure Awesomeness
Vanilla protein + cinnamon + ginger + coconut milk = Yummy
Vanilla protein + smoothie = Protein Smoothie

Re: Protein and plain water

I think you just have to get used to the taste.

I went from milk to water with my protein shake to cut more calories, and it took a couple weeks to be able to stand the taste.

Muscle Milk vanilla isn't bad, and Costco sells it for a pretty decent price too...

Re: Protein and plain water

Thanks for the suggestions. I remember getting Twinlab's Gainers Fuel when I was a teenager. The instructions said NOT to use milk. Mix in water. Tasted pretty good if I remember right.

Hater water and protein. Best flavor I've found to help me choke it down
