hey guys, do you think it's worth it to specifically condition the neck and upper traps to prevent neck injuries and head trauma? does anyone know any research on this? it seems that some people(like myself) are more susceptable to consussions while boxing. It's sort of a pain for someone who spars quite a bit.I am just curious if there's information out there about this.

Emil,
I don't know about concussions, but it helped with my neck.
In our training we regularly take shots to the head. In the begining I did not do any specific training for the neck. Eventually it caught up with me and I began to suffer chronic neck pain, at times it was severe enough to keep me from training.
Since then I purchased Iron Mind's neck strap to work the front and back of the neck and use thera-band to work the sides. I have gotten more relief from strengthening the neck than anything the doctors were able to do.
Nick
