Wow, this thing is great. Even better than the gymboss timer because its free! Of course the only draw back is that its on your computer. but give it a look.

Good for doing tabata push-ups during your break at work. http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/1...onwackobz7.gif

Re: Free On-line Timer !!!

Actually you gave me a GREAT idea!.

For those with a Mac, there is a program called WireTap Pro (It's freeware, if you do a search). It is an application that allows you to record any sounds coming out of your computer.

So here is the practical application.

Step One:
Open up iTunes or your favorite music player

Step Two:
Set up the timer to any specific pattern

Step Three:
Open up WireTap pro, get it ready to record.

Step Four:
Ensure the buzzers on the timer are as loud as you can make them.
Also Ensure the music doesn't get too loud as to drown out the buzzer.

Step Five:
As fast as you can press RECORD on WireTap Pro
Press Play on iTunes.
Press Start on timer.

Step Six:
Once the timer is complete, press STOP on the Wiretap Pro application. Save the file. The saved file should easily open in iTunes, then place in your iPod or burn to a CD for a workout mix!

---

I am almost certain there is a PC equivalent of WireTap Pro, which would probably work the exact same way.

Re: Free On-line Timer !!!

Google search for "Audacity music application" and "LAME MP3 encoder." That'll work for PC users.

Re: Free On-line Timer !!!

For tabata, get a cassette recorder and record:

5 or so seconds of preparation time after hitting play.
2 seconds before interval, say "get ready."
Loud sound like rapping on a piece of wood each second for the full twenty.
At twenty seconds, say "done."
Give another two second warning for the next interval before repeating seven times.

All you would need is a watch and a portable cassette player/recorder. You could even make another tape in which you mark time every *insert time interval* I

It has potential.
