Reasons For Not Doing CF...Lets Hear 'Em!

So, either in real life (at the gym, friends, family, etc.) or on the 'net, what reasons have you heard as to why someone was opposed to doing CrossFit?

Personally, if someone is open and honest about what they're trying to achieve by doing isolation bicep curls off their inner thigh w/lifting straps (yep...), then by all means, go for it. For many, aesthetics are all they really care about, no matter what they say...

What I hear:

1. It's too hard
2. It's too hard
3. It's too hard

Biggest excuse for not doing something you know you probably should:

"I don't have the time"

This is what I hear a lot especially doing anything with kettlebells:
"Dude... Bro, that's dangerous!"

"You're going to be hobbling around by the time you're 40."
"I need to quit smoking first."
"I want to get in shape before starting a program like that."
"I need to let my motorcycle injuries from my last crash at the track heal and then get cleared by my doc." (Ok, so I ended up walking in right after my doc cleared me.)

Re: Reasons For Not Doing CF...Lets Hear 'Em!

When I'm spouting the kool-aid to someone their biggest negative reaction is to the price (for affiliate gyms). Even when I break it down ($10 for an hour of supervised & coached exercise) they still balk.

And these aren't people that would do this on their own - they run on treadmills b/c running outside is "too much work", they definitely won't be trying any WODs on their own

I've heard this one too - even after I've thoroughly explained how the workouts are scaleable and we have all shapes/sizes/ages participating at the gym.

For some people they might just focus in strength gains, or other type of training. 1 training does not rule all.

Re: Reasons For Not Doing CF...Lets Hear 'Em!

I hear a lot of "that's WAY too much for me!" and then people who sort of think that getting this excited about a stupid workout program is wack...
