Great work by everyone at the Games. I haven't seen anything posted on the forums or the site about the results yet, so I won't spoil it if the organizers/participants aren't ready to release them, but suffice to say that there was some pretty incredible athleticism shown. Hope to see it again!

Brandon, I didn't make the games but was very interested in it. What was the format, and events?

First day: Hopper WoD and run.

Workout ended up being 1000m row followed by five rounds of 25 pullups and 7 push jerks (push press? one or the other) at 135 or something like that. Everyone ruined their hands on the pullups and it was steaming hot.

Run was about 5k up and down hills in the surrounding area. Off-road.

Second day: CF Total. Run by Rippetoe by the official ruleset. Some pretty monster lifts.

I didn't see everything but I heard about the rest. Great stuff. Scores were earned in each event and tallied... there were medals for the best Total (1/2/3 men and women), for top CrossFitter overall (1/2/3 men and women), for the "Spirit of CrossFit" (man and woman), and for top affiliate, which was a big ol' cup which will get recycled next year.

135 for men (anyhow 2 hands overhead, although push jerk preferred method) and 85 for women. I still have DOMS today. Bad.

It was pretty awesome.

I tried to do a pullup yesterday, got one, then fell off the bar because I couldn't control the descent.

Russ - I still have DOMS today. I tried to do a pullup and got one - on the cybex machine w/ assistance. Burgener warmup hurt. By the way - props to you. You did great and it was nice to meet you and talk with you, as briefly as we did.

I may be down through DC in late July. I'd like to time it and stop by CF DC and say to all of your crew - even Jacob "The Barbarian" Tsypkin (he of the hobbit feet).

Dale - I think "The Barbarian" is going to be my official nickname.

Before planning your trip to CFDC, you should know I don't train in DC and Russ won't be there until the fall - we're both in Monterey for the summer. But if you want to come to Monterey, we'd be more than happy to train with you. Lifting with you was an honor bro. Hope to do it again.

I didn't get to meet a lot of you but those of you whom I did meet, I can honestly say a better group of kick- people I have NEVER met! I placed 2nd from last overall but all that means is that I have nowhere to go but up from here!

A big thank you to Jeff and the crew from Brand X Martial Arts. Jeff got me my PR in the DL by #40 by telling me to stick my up like a silverback gorilla! Lifting on the same slab of concrete as those animals Connor, Dale, Mike, etc was a real treat!

Thank you very much to headquarters for putting this event together and to all who volunteered. I had the time of my life.

See you all again next year!

Nick
