We've been travelling (spent some great time with Coach Burgener and The Martins - not nearly enough time, though...) so I'm late to post.
First - Happy Birthday, Eugene!
Thanks for the inspiration, brother.
The challenge (and my goal) - 90 second L-sit.
At Brand X last night, I put myself up.
Bad news - I didn't make goal.
Good news - 75 second L-sit, by far a PR.
With the ongoing shoulder injury (that started shortly after I posted the challenge) and the impact that made on my training, I'm pleased with the overall result.
These challenges push me to greater heights, whether or not I actually hit the numbers I set for myself.
JK

Is this is a hanging L-sit, on finger tips L-sit, ring L-sit?

I just went (challenge motivated me to do something) and did a 40 second hanging L-sit with five pounds on my legs. I will see if I can get that up to a minute and then go for gold sometime this week.

Ian - supported, not hanging.
On floor, parallettes, or rings - all those are OK.
Good luck!

i was an l-sitter. I had a PR in my training of about 75 or 76 seconds, but I got bronchitis and died before Eugene's birthday :-(

I succeeded. Today. PR too. 93 seconds. But it is late for Eugene's birthday so maybe it doesn't count?

Brendan - I am sorry you are dead. Where can I send condolances for your family?

From personal experience I find that doing L-sits on the floor (ie fingertips) is the hardest of the above listed options. If your feet dip while doing L-sits you hit the ground and you are done... rings and parallets seem easier to cheat on...

..but I I'll start working this one back up. I used to be able to hold it for two minutes on fingertips when I lived in Nepal...

Ian, palms on floor is even better. Requires you to really keep your shoulders pushed down as well.

That is totally fair. I guess it will help build stength for those tasks that have me inverted (handstands, handsprings, yada yada) Will give this a try today.
