Re: Impossible is the Opposite of Possible

CFWU x 2

Monday 090223
For time:
Row 500 meters
115 pound Push press, 21 reps
Row 500 meters
115 pound Push press, 18 reps
Row 500 meters
115 pound Push press, 15 reps
Row 500 meters
115 pound Push press, 12 reps

As Rx'd - 22:10

Using iron plates and had to clean from the floor due to logistics. Felt really tight from yesterday. I think I need to work on my form for push press. Don't know if it's from being tight or bad form; but, I keep getting an accute pain in my middle/lower back.

[Brodie picks up a controller and continues a paused video game]
Rene: What are you doing? You promised me breakfast.
Brodie: Breakfast, shmreakfast. Look at the score, for Christ's sake. It's only the second period and I'm up 12 to 2. Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.

Wednesday 090225
Push Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

135-145-155-165-175-185-195

The last rep was ugly. It took me a second of swaying to get my feet under me and lock out.

Re: Impossible is the Opposite of Possible

CFWU x 2

Did some light work on my rowing form.

Sunday 090302
"Helen"

Three rounds for time:
Run 400 meters
1 1/2 pood Kettlebell X 21 swings (or 55 pound dumbbell swing)
12 Pull-ups

As Rx'd - 12:09

Due to logistics, I had to do the runs on a treadmill. A few delays waiting for the same guy to get off the pullup bar. Overall, I felt pretty good.

Re: Impossible is the Opposite of Possible

CFWU x 2

Did some light rowing to get warmed up. Still having problems with the same spot on my lower spine. Hoping that a couple weeks of serious stretching and foam rolling will work this out. If not, I may take off a week. Final resort will be going back to my physical therapist.

Monday 090302
Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

Previous Attempt (090210):
280-290-300-310-320-330-340(Fail)

Today:
285-295-305-315-325-335(PR)-345(Fail)

Although only a slight PR (5lbs.), I'm pretty happy with today. I felt like my form was a lot stronger in the heavier reps than on previous attempts. I still think I might have had some slight rounding on my last two as I came up; but, still a big improvement.

Re: Impossible is the Opposite of Possible

CFWU x 3

Tuesday 090303
"Barbara"

Five rounds, each for time of:
20 Pull-ups
30 Push-ups
40 Sit-ups
50 Squats

Rest precisely three minutes between each round.

Previous Attempt (090125):
Round 1 - 3:05
Round 2 - 5:18
Round 3 - 5:38
Round 4 - 6:58
Round 5 - 6:48
Total - 27:47 (with rests - 39:47)

Today: (PR)
Round 1 - 2:40
Round 2 - 4:18
Round 3 - 5:38
Round 4 - 6:08
Round 5 - 5:22
Total - 24:06 (with rests - 36:08)

Happy with the improvement. There were times that I felt like I should have been pushing myself harder; but, I felt completely wiped out today. When I finished my head was throbbing so badly that the music was fading in and out. Felt like my brain was swelling.

Re: Impossible is the Opposite of Possible

CFWU x 3 (with 500m rows)

Burgener warmup (45lbs bar)

Thursday 090305
Clean and Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

135-145-155-165(Failed Clean)-165-170-175(ugly; but, PR)

I felt like I was using my arms way to much on the last rep. Timing was completely off for my miss on the 4th attempt. Other than that I felt pretty good.

Re: Impossible is the Opposite of Possible

I hate running so I really wasn't looking forward to this. Got to the gym and practiced turkish get-ups and kettlebell juggling again. Finally worked up the courage to head up the the track.

I was out of the country in January when the last 5k and 10k came up.

Previous 5K (Friday 081121):
1000m - 4:06
2000m - 4:24
3000m - 4:41
4000m - 4:42
5000m - 4:16

Total - 22:11

Today:
1000m - 3:50
2000m - 4:08
3000m - 4:14
4000m - 4:16
5000m - 4:08

Total - 20:36
