Re: Did a no-no at Planet Fitness

I find the entire demeanor of PF to be somewhat odd in the face of todays economy.

If I had customers coming in and spending their money, I think I'd let them bend a few rules here and there.

I guess that at PF, the customer isn't right.

Re: Did a no-no at Planet Fitness

"Our Mission Statement

We at Planet Fitness are here to provide a unique environment in which anyone – and we mean anyone – can be comfortable. A diverse, Judgement Free Zone® where a lasting, active lifestyle can be built. Our product is a tool, a means to an end; not a brand name or a mold-maker, but a tool that can be used by anyone. In the end, it’s all about you. As we evolve and educate ourselves, we will seek to perfect this safe, energetic environment, where everyone feels accepted and respected. We are not here to kiss your butt, only to kick it if that’s what you need. We need you, because face it, our planet wouldn’t be the same without you. You belong! "

That's because when they decided to open a fitness facility they used No Judgement in designing it to actually be useful for fitness.

Re: Did a no-no at Planet Fitness

What confuses me is that they hype the 'no judgment' stuff on their web site, as to entice people, without detailing it. They don't list the rules, which might give pause to people for whom it's not an ideal environment. In fact, their mission statement is a bit misleading in that regard, since it talks up the idea that they're all about accepting everyone.
