One of the hardest workouts

A few months ago I found a video in the video section of brendan doing a wo that was 10 rounds of 15 reps of 135 lb deadlift and 15 reps pushups. This thing sucked the life out of me both times I've done it. I honestly compare the intensity to something like fran, only its a little more sustainable. I highly recommend this little puke fest, and believe it deserves a little play on the mainpage.

Re: One of the hardest workouts

Agreed! I have been doing 10 X 10 reps of 135# dead and 10 push-ups. Did it in 15:02 just the other day. It is an *** kicker. Guess I'll have to up it to 15 reps of each now, thanks. This WO has found a home in my rotation of favorites. Any others that you can offer up?

Re: One of the hardest workouts

I do this workout at least once a month I have done it 3 times. I usually do it if there is a reason why I can't workout at the gym the day before or day after. But this is an awesome workout. I love looking at the videos and I add the WODS that I have equipment for and do them when I either don't want to do the Designated WOD. I also look at the affilitate sites and see if they have a wod I'd like to try. But this wod is awesome especially for me since I am trying to get to 100 pushups in 2 minutes.

I hope they do the tabata pushup wod with squats one day.

Guys-
If you like that, then you'd probably also like the WOD we did at CrossFit Alexandria last night.
Rudy (or Casey) named it "White Christmas" but I think it only got that name because it was snowing all day yesterday.

Anyway:

Max rounds in 20 minutes of:

40 Push Ups
20 Dead Lifts at 135#
40 Jumping Pullups

I am neither a big strong monster, nor a cardio king. I was only able to manage 5 full rounds plus 1 push up of the 6th round.

Give it a shot!

Along the lines of tough workouts that you feel for a few days afterwards.

I did this last week:

Max rounds in 20 minutes:

5 rope pullups
10 Deadlifts 225#
15 KB swings 1.5pood

I got 9 full rounds and had aching hamstrings for about 4 days.

Re: One of the hardest workouts

I've done the deadlift/press-up workout (it was 10 and 10 when I did it...maybe there are two vids floating around) and boy it was a killer. Felt good though.

Sounds like a good WOD. I will give this one a try on Saturday.

Re: One of the hardest workouts

The deadlift/ pushup workout is great, i thought it was 10/15 x 10.
Today 2 of us did what was the hardest i think i have done

boxing (light sparring) x 3minutes, straight into
hang power clean 45kg x 1 minute for reps
pullups x 1 minute for reps
rest 2 minutes x 5 sets

Ick. I've done this one in something around 14 minutes and felt like my hamstrings were going to pop off their attachments and roll up into my legs for a couple of days. This is an AWESOME workout and I'd love for it to acquire a lovely female's name. Something that rolls off the tongue, like Mildred or Petunia or Beatrice.

Maybe we could submit to Glassman to bring it on board? My guess is that he'll say that it doesn't have enough metabolic conditioning to it like a "Cindy", but isn't heavy enough enough to be considered a pure gut-it-out workout like "Diane". Maybe with heavier weights and ring pushups?

Either way it sucks.
