Back Squat 250x3x5

Woohoo, current 5RM! I'm almost fully back in the game. In the next 2-3 weeks, I would like to max out some of my lifts and see where I'm at before beginning the Power/OLY lifting template that Tamara Cohen wrote for me about 2 months ago.

Today, I hit 240x1, and then was going to max out instead of worksets, so I hit 260x1 and it felt slow, so I went back down to 250 for worksets. However, I thought that it made the worksets (the first one anyways) easier b/c I was going down in weight, instead of up.

To anyone that still reads my log: Is this a thing? Do people work up to higher than their worksets as a warmupset? How well does it work?

Skill work on rings for about 15-20 mins, it was nice so I went to the park to set them up.

Final WOD for our fitness class, worth about 20% of our mark (Finish, 100%, otherwise, 0%).

It was supposed to be:

800m run
75 pulls
150 sit
225 thrusters @45#
800m run

However, I can't run because of my shins, so I did:

100 pulls
200 sit
300 thrusters @45#
Time: 36:06

Just a stupid WOD. Legs are locked up hours later, it's going to be terrible tomorrow.

What's 100 pulls? Pullups, deadlifts, high pulls? That's an interesting wod.

Are your shins that bad that you can't run at all? Is it just shin splints.

WOW, any way you look at it that is just a plain and stupid WOD.

Yea, I often say pulls and push, or sometimes sits in my log. I always mean pullups, pushups, or situps. The shins splints are chronic. They are caused by an issue in my foot where I have tight plantar fascia running along the underside of it. I can temporarily make it go away by mashing my phalanges and calcaneus into the ground for a couple minutes, but its too painful to do every day.

Yep. It needed to be something long, because he couldnt make everyone do Fran and have it be a pass/fail. It needed to be more strenuous. Regardless, it's done now.

Still wrecked from Tuesday, but decided it was time to get back into things.

Bench 160x3x5
PR
Felt so good (although quite tough), that I decided to hit some heavy singles.

170x1
180x1 (Current PR)
185xf
185xf

Capped it, but I was happy to hit that much. Feeling fresh I think 190 might be in reach.

Then cleaned and pressed 135x1.

Lumbar looks a tiny bit rounded, lets say back was a 7/10. I'll post video, but it looks like I'm clean deadlifting, I need some form critique.

Not fun. Hard as hell. Coach said my setup was good, I need to turn feet in more, and knees out, and make sure I don't good morning the weight up. Depth was fine, according to him.
