Looking to complete a quote

Hello folks,

I was watching a show on cruising advice. While it was pretty interesting, at one point they were showing the fitness center and it was lined with expensive cardio machines...and the attendant said it was state-of-the-art.

That bothered me a little and I can also see a day where I/we would encounter that kind of thinking.

So, I'm looking for a complete thought:

"State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive, electronic machines but rather by training methodologies."

or

"State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive machines but rather programming and training modalities."

I'm looking for something like that, what do y'all think (it might even be good in a powerpoint, on a webpage, etc)?

Hehe...yeah, that works.

But, just in case I run into someone who is interested and don't wish to immediately scare them off...perhaps something more tame??

"State of the art fitness is defined by results, not the equipment you use."

True to the CrossFit philosophy. If treadmills and pec-decks worked, we would use them. The only reason we do what we do is because the results are proven by empirical data.

Use what works, discard what doesn't.

Re: Looking to complete a quote

Here are a few possibilities:

1. State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive machines but rather by how well it coalesces with the current state of scientific inquiry into the nature of elite fitness.

2. State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive machines but rather by how many steroids you are taking.

3. State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive machines but rather by who can take Jackie Chan in a fight.

4. State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive machines but instead by a dictionary.

5. State of the art fitness is not defined by expensive machines but instead by a secret cabal of athletes who meet once yearly in an underground cavern to engage in unholy rites.

Do any of those work for you?

State of the art fitness requires only one machine...the one you were born with.

State of the art fitness only requires Vitamin D (as in discipline...)!
