Yes. This is why I love zombie movies but hate movies like Event Horizon, God that one was awful.

Two words...or one word and one number: "Session 9"

I love horror movies, and I can't watch this flick at night before I go to sleep if my family is out of town. I kid you not.

There are lots of spooky and creepy places in Massachusetts, especially the old mental institutions, old cemetery's, and the lady in black on Georges island..............

+50,000

Don't forget the bazillion instances of eerie/supposedly haunted woods. I almost had a heart attack one night when my friends directed me down a dead end unpaved road in Billerica (read: surrounded by aforementioned woods) that had an old convent on it.

Re: Paranormal Activity

I saw it yesterday. If suspense gets to you then this movie will really destroy you. Its blairwitch style scary which i find more amusing than scary. But if your easily scared this one will really rip you up its a lot of "what was that noise lets go inspect type of stuff"

I've always tried finding a concise way to explain why I don't like the unreasonable things jumping out. Now I have one.

I don't like gratuitous violence movies that try to scare (like Saw--well I'm guesssing Saw, because I've never seen any of them), because it's, well, gratuitous.

+1 for "things that could actually happen, like exorcisms." The Exorcism of Emily Rose is the scariest movie I've ever seen. Oddly enough, it has a sort of uplifting ending. I categorize it as a "good movie," and not just a "good scary movie."

Has anyone seen "A Haunting in Conneticut?" (or whatever it's called...)

Yeah. It was beyond bad. The Discovery Channel re-enactment about the real story was much scarier.

Want to read something scary. Read the book "Shadows of the Dark" by John Zaffis. He is a real life para/demonologist who worked on the Haunting in Conn case. I was creeped out reading it during the day.

I mean how scary is this book cover (WFS)

Wow. That may also be something I don't need in my life! Definitely looks freaky.
