Re: I'll do it with the strength Christ has given me. Tony

Not to bad actually. Outside would have definitely been a real challenge. I try to stay on the treadmill as much as possible. I'm not a runner at all, but I've run a lot of miles over many years and it's taken it's toll on my knees. That's one of the reasons I came to CF. Reading your entries about your son being around during your workouts brings a smile on my face. It brings back memories when I was doing the same thing several years ago. Empty nest now. It's a good way to be there and get a work out in. Sounds like you're a good father Nik.

Re: I'll do it with the strength Christ has given me. Tony

Tony,

Strong work the last few days. Great 1.5 miler! I'm slowly getting there....my endurance will come, just have to keep working at it.

Tuesday's workout looked really interesting and I can certainly identify with the possibilities for muscle fatigue.....quickly too, I'll bet!

Fast times on the "gerbil trainer!" I used to do my runs on the treadmill when I worked out at the globo gym. We were fortunate and had pretty decent ones - - I hate with a vengeance, those treadmills where the belt slips or they can't quite hold up to the pounding I give them when I try to run. I have foot falls which can break concrete. Seems like I'm probably a great candidate for learning POSE.....

Love your OHS numbers! Great work. Can't seem to stabilize / hold overhead, any more than 45 - 60# right now.....If you have any extra prayers for improved technique and strength, I'll take 'em!

God Bless and have a wonderful tomorrow! Steve

35 Push-ups

Tuesday 06/29/10 WOD

Big Dawg
Three rounds for time of:
50 pound dumbbell Thruster, 15 reps
30 GHD situps

Time - 14:20

I did the first set with 50lb dumbbells and it was too much and took too much out of me. I dropped down to 40lbs and that was much better. The GHDs, which I normally do, but not near as many, slowed me down considerably. Cardio was the big challenge, followed by muscle failure. But I made it.

Good work, i did that work out with 40's to, because we don't have 50's. I do GHD's to every morning but doing them in a workout killed them for me. Still a good workout though.

Great job, Tony! I'd have to scale this one (haven't had a chance to do it yet) at a minimum to the extent you did. I'm good for perhaps one rope ascent.Period.

Awesome time!

This was a great WOD! I couldn't even clean the 50s (props to you for getting even 1 round with them!) so I ended up having to use the next highest weight available - - 25s. Props for doing all the situps on the GHD - - I'm still a little antsy about doing that many and need to build up to sets of 25 - 30......so I subbed unanchored ab-mat situps. What a workout!

Blessings to you and yours. Stay safe and know that He is always with you. Praying for a hedge of protection around you.....

Steve

Re: I'll do it with the strength Christ has given me. Tony

Wednesday 06/30/10
Rest day as RXd.

Thursday 07/01/10 WOD

Five rounds for time of: (Big Dawg - Porch)
40 Double-unders
30 Box jumps, 24 inch box
20 Kettlebell swings, 1.5 pood

Pack
Five rounds for time of:
20 Double-unders (Tuck Jumps)
15 Box jumps, 20 inch box (26")
10 Kettlebell swings, 30-35 (50lb dumbbell)

Time - 15:45
Didn't feel like working out at all. Tuck jumps followed by box jumps was taxing on the cardio and arches. Glad I finished though.

Nice work, Tony! Yup - - tuck jumps and box jumps together in one WOD are NOT your friends......and you upped it to a 26" box and 50# Dbs. Excellent!

Glad I took a rest day today and concentrated on rehabbing.......I didn't realize how fried I was....
