I know I am not Elliot, but I am having pain in both knees. It's in the tendon thingy (scientic jargon, I know) just where the patella and the tendon in the front meet. Hurts when I squat and when I run. Also for step-ups/box jumps.

When it gets warmed up, doesn't seem to hurt as much.

Elliot, sorry to hi-jack your thread for your problem....

Kevin:

Thanks for the photo, but no, that is not me either. If I did try to do that, I would have very sore knees! :lame:

Pierre: great diagram.

Good advice all around. I happened to be visiting my orthopedist today as a follow up to the shoulder problems I've been having. He feels that it's probably a light case of tendonitis from too much activity (I climbed a mountain, played soccer, and went to Oktoberfest in Munich all in 5 days plus have been focusing on O lifts).

I've been icing it and the pain seems to have gone away. So, yes, Pierre, finding a "gadget" that will fix my problems is a pattern I have, and no I won't get the wraps/sleeves for now.

And yes, form is a problem although I haven't been squatting with weights (just bodyweight) because I know my form is questionable.

Thanks for the great advice (and the photo, Kevin!).
