Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

i think some of the elites will be able to finish under 8.
they should make the last movement unlimited. just keep going for as many reps until time is up

*edit*
Nevermind, they stipulated a tiebreak:

Special Tiebreak
In this workout, we are using a special tiebreak method. At the end of each set of 15 box jumps time should be marked. When you submit your final result, your score will be the number of reps completed. There will be another field in which you will enter the time of the last completed sets of box jumps.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

ok, so the athlete is responsible for changing their own weights.
if they load it incorrectly, and someone intervenes to let them know it's wrong, is it nullified?

(happened just now to Alessandra Picelli; loaded the weights wrong, was 4 or 5 reps into it, and judge pointed it out)

It would be appropriate for the judge to just call out no reps to the athlete and tell them why--"you fully extended hips but your weight is wrong the correct weight for this round is ___."

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

I didn't see anything that said someone else can't tell you you loaded the wrong weight, it just states you have to load the bar yourself.

Stacy actually is the one that pointed out that Alessandra's bar was loaded with the wrong weight.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

35 DL's at 365 will be hard for anyone to finish. Especially after the round of 30 at 315 just prior. I see several people into the 365 round but not finishing. I foresee a lot of singles and not many reps strung together at that weight. Just my opinion.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

Glad they've got more weight in there, but really high rep deadlift? Man, tens of thousands of people's backs will be WRECKED next week. And I expect quite a few tweaks, also.

CF gets a lot of flack for high rep o-lifts but I think this is way more dangerous.

The judge didn't even notice it until Tovar pointed it out. Would have been very interesting if no one would have caught it

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

If you watch the ticker at the top of the screen during tonight's throwdown, it showed the 205# DLs, then the 225#, then another set of 225#. I think if you finish the first set of 35 deadlifts at the max weight + 15 box jumps, you're supposed to do it again. Not sure if you go up to 40 DLs at that point - the standards video and the PDF scorecard don't say.
