Great article, Dan. I linked to this in my training log in the WOD section. Here's a repost of my comments:

Dan really digs into the psychological battle behind athletic training. To some working out like we do may seem superficial. What's the point of clean and jerking 1.5 bodyweight and doing 15 muscleups if your job doesn't require it? This misperception of athletics occurs because non-athletes don't understand the internal transformation that accompanies the external transformation. Physical improvement is impossible without an increase in self-knowledge.
