Good one! Exactly the point. Sad, but this is to be my fate for at least the next 2-3 years, reading engineering texts.

Re: What are you reading?

A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini and The Third Option, Vince Flynn, Detail Process Charting, Ben Graham.

And yes, that is a weird combination.

Re: What are you reading?

"The Little Book" by Selden Edwards. My husband plays basketball with the author, so it's required reading in our house.

The Fair Tax - Neil Boortz

Everyone should read this and see just how much the Gov has us by the 00's

Starting Strength

Duh

Give War a Chance - PJ O'Rourke

A collection of column articles collected over the past 20 years, satirical and informative.

You're kidding. What a small world - I happen to work for the publisher - so I got to read this a little while back. I liked it but certain parts were... a little creepy.

Other recent worthwhile reads:
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
City of Thieves by David Benioff
Armageddon in Retrospect by Kurt Vonnegut
Ultramarathon Man by Dean Karnazes
The Given Day by Dennis Lehane

Plus, I just started The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell, so far so good.

What a coincidence! My husband read it first, and I just started it, so I don't have any opinion on it yet, or really any idea what's gonna happen. Creepy, huh? Thanks for the warning!

Ooh this book was next on my list of things to read...you'll have to let me know what you thought of it when you're done! Currently I'm reading Starting Strength and The Night of the Gun by David Carr.

Wow, so people actually are seeing this book out in the real world! That's really cool.

When I finish it I'll post a review. Warning...I've been on like page 10 for a week...just haven't had time to make progress on it!

Anyone read Cormack McCarthy's "The Road"?
Everything by Cormac McCarthy is worthwhile as long as you don't require happy endings to be satisfied.
