Help! Does anyone have tricks?

I just opened and was wondering if there was anything I could use to keep the floor clean? Short of a broom and a mope. I heard rumors of an electric broom or some sort of indoor vacuum.

Re: Help! Does anyone have tricks?

No. You need something that is anti-bacterial, fungal.

Vacuum, broom, mop, soap.

The side of owning an affiliate most don't see.

A leaf blower works well to quickly sweep away surface dust, dirt, and chalk.

We mop our floors twice a week with an anti-bacterial cleaner.

Re: Help! Does anyone have tricks?

That was my thought. I bought a vacuum for hard flooring and I already mop regularly. Thanks guys, it's really is no fun sweeping 1100 sq feet.

No it isn't fun. Those are the parts of owing a gym no one tells you about.

BUT it is a great way to get someone who wants to join but can't afford it in. Trade sweep/mop the gym for a membership!

That's another good call. What type of mop do you guys use? The one I have is leaving little hairs all over the floor.

Re: Help! Does anyone have tricks?

if you have rubber mats. A bucket, a sponge, some simple green d pro 5 concentrate disinfectant cleaner. Vacuum the mats with a shop vac to get as much of the dirt and chalk up as possible. Otherwise you will be smearing it all over the place and won't notice until the floor dries. Then, get on all fours and go to work. We get one 4x6 mat with each side of the sponge.

We have used a home carpet cleaner before. It works really well, but is an investment.

Our gym is 3,200 square feet with about 1,200 square feet of rubber mats.

Re: Help! Does anyone have tricks?

Wow! That would take forever at some places, but I'll commend the effort. We use a leave blower to get all the crap off it first, then use a commercial mop and bucket with antibacterial cleaner.
