Olympic Lifting in the UK

Had my first taste of Olympic weightlifting in a competition setting today.

Quick background:
- I have done no sports or exercise for 17 years since school.
- Started doing Crossfit in 2007.
- I've had almost all of 2008 off all exercise due to Golfers Elbow.
- I've been back at the gym for just 4 weeks before this video was shot.
- 2007 PB's are 65kg for Snatch and 90kg for Clean and Jerk, I'm still building back up to those levels whilst my elbow returns to 100%.

Anyway, the video and my analysis of the lifts are here for your viewing pleasure: Snatch and Clean & Jerk - Crossfit Exercises Would appreciate opinions.

Re: Olympic Lifting in the UK

Cheers Davie.

It wasn't really a comp, but was a competition setting. It was good practice in terms of working out when to start warming up and also lifting in a room with 30 people all watching you is an interesting experience.

When I first looked up for the first snatch, I discovered I was looking right into the referees eyes!

EDIT: Oops, forgot to put WFS on the link in my first post, and it's too late to edit it now. Sorry.
