In eating paleo, of course, theres no beans, grains, or potatoes allowed. These are all complex...........? How, then, can you get a good amount of complex carbs then? I've read in so many places that fruit IS a simple carb (fructose) is this true? Where can I get some information about this?

I'm speculating, but it may be that Robb has compassion fatigue. I come up with a lot of questions myself about this that or the other thing, but I always try and answer the question myself first. A lot of time you can get answers from simple experimentation. In this case, you may find that wading through all the articles will not only result in finding the answer yourself, you may also learn about a whole bunch of other stuff that you never suspected. I often get lost on purpose to see what happens. You never know.

To the extent that I have a dietary philosophy, it is the Zone, and there is a list in most of Barry Sear's books on the glycemic index of various foods. In the realm of fruit, berries, apples, and grapes are good. The rest I'm not sure on, but that list is readily available.

Roy,

To add on to what Barry said, I'd pay attention to the glycemic load, rather than just the glycemic index.
