Inspired by this month’s showdown between the top guns of the Santa Cruz crew, Sam and I have decided to go head-to-head in every WOD for a month. Lest we go soft on each other, the loser is required to provide the winner with a crisp $100 bill.

The Rules:

1. Each WOD victory, determined by the appropriate metric, is worth one point, and the person with the most points at the end of a 31-day period wins.
2. We will follow a 3-on/1-off schedule, performing the CrossFit Boston WOD.
3. When no CrossFit Boston WOD is available, we will use the most recent WOD from CrossFit.com.
4. All WODs must be done as prescribed for our respective genders.
5. Any voluntary withdrawal from a WOD will result in a two-point penalty.
6. Strength workouts are won by the athlete who lifts the highest average percentage of bodyweight across all required repetitions.
7. Thursdays and Saturdays are non-competitive (unless agreed upon by the competitors), as we’ll be training Olympic Lifting.

Either Sam and I will come out the other end as better CrossFitters, or we’ll be single. We'll post the daily WOD and our commentary on the newly-created 31-Day CrossFit Contest Page at Again Faster.

I hope a few of you will see fit to join us! All you've got to do is find some worthy competition, visit the contest page for the daily WOD, and go head-to-head.

If you'd like to participate, or have any questions, just let me know! We start on Monday!

This should be an interesting month...

Best,

Jon

Ha ha. Not legally. I'm pretty sure the bookmakers in Vegas won't be covering this one, either.

It would be a moot point anyway, because I'm going to whoop her .

Best,

Jon

Re: 31-Day CrossFit Contest

So much for bragging! Today's workout, "Annie" had too many double-unders for my taste.

Sammy kicked my butt, coming in a full three and forty-five seconds before me. On the plus side, the contest is doing exactly what it's supposed to--I actually did double-unders of my own free will.

Anthony, you might want to refrain from spending that C-note for a few days...

Best,

Jon

Good luck, Jodi! From what I've seen of Anthony, you're gonna have your hands full...

It's funny how different programming favors different body types though. When the strict bodyweight stuff comes up, Sam is going to mop the floor with me.

Best,

Jon

What are double-unders? I looked in the exercise demo's section but the videos are not working correctly.
