Oly Shoes

I know this has been talked about some I did my searching and just trying to make sure i get the best shoe for the money.

A few people at my gym have the dowin shoes i have tried and help a ton with my OHS.

Questions are.
The Dowin shows and the rouge dowin are the same but i have read people saying the VS are also the same for 40$ cheaper.

I like the slightly lower heal on these over the adiStar Weightlifting, but at the same time what ever works the best in an over all lift.

Just looking for some feed back thank you all and be kind to the new guy

Great review on OLY shoes on the CF board (WFS)

OLY shoe search (WFS)

For your first pair, just go with whatever you can afford. If money isn't an issue, I say go with the Adidas or Nike Romaleos. Personally, I have the Reeboks and although they are not a 'true' OLY shoe, they work great for all my squats, over head, and olympic lifts.

Re: Oly Shoes

Pendlay Do-Wins are leather while the Rogue Do-Wins are suede. I don't own either shoe so I don't know whether one is better than the other.

I have a pair of Nike Romaleos which are 18 months old and haven't picked up any damage at all. They won't break down through wear and tear. Built like bricks so are quite hefty, but are great for lifting in.

Re: Oly Shoes

I don't have a pair of Do-Wins, but I do have friends that speak highly of them. They've been using them for well over a year and I've never head complaints.

I own a pair of the Reebok Oly's and they are doing great. I've worn them for 2 hours during some lifting sessions and never suffered 'sweaty feet syndrome' that some leather lifting shoes cause. They do a great job.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Oly Shoes

I would probably stay away from a suede lifting shoe. I have not personally owned a pair of suede lifting shoes, but have trained with a few people who have. From what I have been told, the suede stretches and doesn't hold its shape like leather does.

Thanks for referencing my review, Joey. I hope it helps!

Re: Oly Shoes

I have the Reebok OLYs. I'm thinking about getting a "true" pair of weightlifting shoes next time I get a hefty amount of cash (and also when I have more time to do strict weightlifting). But my Reeboks work well for me... I've cleaned heavy weight in them, and they work, so I'm not complaining.
