Rope attachment to tree

I want to attach my climbing rope to a tree in my back yard but have a problem of not having any branches low enough to connect to. Does anyone know a way to anchor a pole or something that will hold the weight? I thought about attaching a deer stand to the tree and then clipping to the front of it but thought there had to be a better way
