Re: shorts...

They're shorts.

What exactly is "better?"

Re: shorts...

I don't pay $60 for shorts but I prefer to workout in boardshorts that have a little stretch to them. O'Neill's Superfreak are my favorites and I can find them on closeout or on eBay for cheap.

Just wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Not to me. I like Under Armours knee length running series shorts.

A lot of times I just wear PT shorts. My only criteria is lightweight, flexible, breathable, and does not interfere with movement.

It's all a matter of preference. Depends what you think looks good, feels good, and lets you do the movements the way you want to. Otherwise, there's no magic serum in the fight/WOD shorts.

Re: shorts...

MMA shorts.

There are right above the knee, have nice slits up the side of each leg and stretch fabric in the crotch. Both of which make them very comfy to do deep squats in.

Re: shorts...

Jaco fight shorts are the best I have worn. The only problem is that they only have one small mouth piece pocket. Maybe keep A key in it, but otherwise I would wear them all day, everyday. The hybrid shorts from Jaco are cut longer and narrower than the fight shorts, so they don't fit me as well.

Re: shorts...

I personally don't like the thick velcro on the fight short style of shorts, I like to feel the bar make contact when I do snatches. The material is nice though, I wouldn't pay $60 for them

Re: shorts...

LuluLemon makes the best workout clothes including shorts. Stretchy, light and thin. It is a Canadian company started by a yoga lady but getting more popular in Canada at least. Not exactly as "manly" as fight shorts but let your lifting do the talking....
