My trainer is boasting about a huge Cindy record - is it physically possible?

Starting at a new gym

one of the trainers there is cross fit certified.

he boasted to me that he can do 10 rounds of

5 pull up
10 push up
15 squats

in under 3 min 30 seconds

Is this physically possible? By any human?

So he's doing 10 * 30 reps per round = 300 reps in 3:30 which is 200 seconds.

You think you can do each round in 20 seconds even if you could instantaneously move from the squats to the pullups?

I think you could do it...... if your range of motion was compromised.

If he's so willing to boast it. As they say talk is cheap, ask him to do it in front of you since your at the gym anyways.

Something fishy about that one. I don't think it's possible.

Re: My trainer is boasting about a huge Cindy record - is it physically possible?

I think the generally accepted record for Cindy is 38 rounds in 20 minutes. That's 1.9 rounds per minute, or 6+ rounds in 3:30. He claims to have topped that by a pretty significant margin.

I'm skeptical. Ask for video or a live demo. Watch for cheating on form.

Is it a CF Gym or a globo? Is it possible you misunderstood or that he misspoke unintentionally? It is really hard for me to believe that a trainer at a CF Gym would misrepresent his ability to another CF'er especially to that extent. There has to be another explanation if not well.......let me just say I'd find it hard to trust someone (a professional) was being honest about my fitness if they lack the ability to be honest about their own. I'd definitely have to confront him or her.

I say post his name publicly and challenge him. Although, he can keep up a much faster pace for 3:30 than for 20:00. Nevertheless, I've seen a 34 round Cindy and I can't imagine doing it much faster without compromising range of motion. Even that was kind of iffy.

Re: My trainer is boasting about a huge Cindy record - is it physically possible?

First of all 10 rounds of Cindy is not Cindy. Cindy is AMRAP in 20 minutes. Look at some vids of some of the top CF'ers doing the 3 movements and determine their rates. Then do the math. That will answer your question and I'd be shocked if it's possible without severely compromising form.

video, please.

I agree with some of the other posters here -- 10 rounds of Cindy, isn't actually Cindy, since Cindy is a 20 minute AMRAP WOD. I also agree that intensity is probably much greater in those first 3 minutes than they are in the last 3 minutes of Cindy.

Still, getting through 50 pull ups, 100 push ups and 150 squats in 3:30 is a feat that I would have to see to believe.
