The Disposable Heroes Project – The Seattle Marathon Team

To my fellow CrossFitters,

A few months ago I stumbled upon something that truly inspired me. I heard about a Marine in Louisiana that started up a plan to raise money and awareness for our country’s wounded and fallen service members. That plan was titled The Disposable Heroes Project and that Marine culminated his efforts with a non-stop 100 mile ultra marathon. But like most Marines, calling it quits wasn’t in the cards. Now, The Disposable Heroes Project has found its way into other venues, and that’s where I come in.

On November 28th I will be running in the Seattle Full Marathon as a supporter to The Disposable Heroes Project in conjunction with the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. But hopefully I won’t be alone. This message goes out to all of you for support but also hopefully your participation alongside me on November 28th. I have organized all the logistics necessary to equip a team to run (or walk) in this year’s Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon (full, half, or walk). All information needed to join or give your support can be found on http://tdhp-seattlemarathonteam.blogspot.com/.

Regardless if you can participate in the run or walk, please check the site out. I plan on frequently updating its content with stories of our Heroes, veteran profiles, and much more.

I am also looking for donations and any amount that you can give will help; no donation is too small. The money will go to assisting our injured and critically ill service members. Thank you in advance for your support and for joining the team. Together we can make sure that our wounded and fallen Heroes are “More Than Just a Number.”

And please, if you know of anyone else that might be interested in this run and/or cause please feel free to forward this message on.

Respectfully Sent,
Staff Sergeant Brent W. Huntington
