Re: ALN - Gold Membership

Jeremy, I wouldn't say you're completely on my side because admittedly I've been an a$$.
I felt the CS responses were avoiding the question so I became irate, I regret that now.

It is normal in offers like this to have wording like "not to be combined with any other offer" or similar as it isn't obvious that more than one code can't be used (this was what my initial email was inquiring about).

Josh's explanation above makes a lot of sense to me.

Again I am sorry for degrading the board with my nonsense. Have a great weekend (and a great long weekend for those Canadians).

Re: ALN - Gold Membership

Most any email marketing you receive with an offer such as this does clarify somewhere, usually in fine print, that it cannot be combined.

And after this I'm sure ALN's offers will too. :P

Re: ALN - Gold Membership

Chris,

Can I just suggest, as a business owner, attacking your customer's character publicly (regardless of how whiny his emails may have been) is never a good idea. You come off as petty and someone who people don't want to deal with.

AtLarge makes great nutritional supplements but so do a number of other companies. You're not selling insulin and AtLarge has many competitors who offer as good, if not better, of a product with much better customer service.

You may have won an internet argument in this case, but you'll likely never know how much business you've lost due to your poor reaction to customer inquiries.

If anything, the rhabdo will be the biggest loss of customers...

Let me say this, as you are simply sour grapes and tried the exact same thing here, I don't really care what you think. Customers are people. Some are good, some are great, and some are not so great as people. If I lose business for not taking guff from a customer who acts in a very poor fashion then so be it.

Actually, your post brings to light a very important point. I think CrossFit HQ and I are similar in this sense, I do business in what I feel is the right way. That includes going way above and beyond in terms of customer service for the majority of my customers. With that said, when someone comes at us in an unwarranted aggressive or rude manner I don't accept that treatment and I tell my people to do the same. Just because you have made a purchase does not empower or permit you to act poorly. You can't bully me into submission. To be clear, there are thousands upon thousands of people I have corresponded with via my business. I have given people free products because I felt it appropriate (a bad situation etc.). I have provided literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of free advice and there is much more. Every once in a blue moon we get an ugly customer. When that happens I deal with it in what I feel is a fair and appropriate fashion. If that makes me lose business then so be it. This company is a huge reflection of me. I will do business the way I feel is best or not at all when it is my company. Period, end of story.

How did you come up with the "hundreds of thousand of dollars of free advice" number?

Actually it does. Whether or not equates to regardless so whatever your order is you can get your discount on that.

but I am guess what it actually meant was that if they run a 10% promo you will get an extra 10% and if no promo you get the full 20%.

In the UK the original wording would get you into a lot of trouble.

Because I have done it thousands of times over the years and most people charge more than $100 for such advice...

Thanks for asking .

Read what prefaced the partial statement you are quoting.
