Out of Ideas

I hold an outdoor "conditioning" Workout on Saturday mornings with 2-6 friends. Running on week 15 and I am out of new programming ideas. We do this in a raquet ball court at the local park. For equipment we have med balls also aprox 60 yards away is a jungle gym we can use for pullups and k2e on also there are some benches and picnic tables we can do box jumps or bulgarian squats on. Hit me up with some good stuff guys. Thanks,

KS

Re: Out of Ideas

One of the best things I did for my outdoor class was make some suspension trainers. They are self scalable and light weight to transport and only about $30 to make yourself.

Check out some programming ideas from my site:

Re: Out of Ideas

Try getting ahold of some car tires, a giant tire and some sandbags. Incorporate DIY tire sled, tire flips and strengthening with sandbags. Low cost but pays back in conditioning.

Re: Out of Ideas

Is conditioning the only thing you guys are doing? Or, is there some method to the madness with your programming?

Re: Out of Ideas

How about this one?

Bodyweight Fran
21-15-9
Burpees
Pull Ups

"Mary"
5 HSPU
10 Pistol squats
15 pull ups

Amrap 10 walking lunges. Every minute, drop and do 5 burpees.
Same for pullups

Poll climbs (If playground has a poll on it)

I would also look at the bodyweight workout resource guide (http://board.crossfit.com/attachment...3&d=1251950189) (WFS)

Hope that helps.

Re: Out of Ideas

shuttle sprints are terrible with burpees at the start of each round..

burpee mile

gi jane

partner carries/wheelbarrows

bear crawls/lunges

You could always go back and do some of the original ones again and measure / brag about time reductions due to the fitness improvements you've given them

Re: Out of Ideas

Team WOD - 15 pullups, 15 table jumps, 15 med ball clean to thruster, 15 min AMRAP. Finish with 40 toes to bar for core, and maybe do some HSPU practice/progressions.

For team WODs, when one person works, the other one rests. For example, athlete #1 does 15 pullups then gasses at seven jumps, then #2 does 8 jumps, 15 cleans, then four pullups. Then, #1 takes over and does 11 pullups and four jumps before they gas, so on and so forth. The instant one athlete fails, the other immediately gets to work, to get AMRAP.

Team WODs are usually popular on Saturdays when more members than usual show up, since you can get by with less equipment per athlete. They're really fun, too. They look easy until you get a few minutes into it.

For example, the last team WOD we did was eight 135 lb front squats and fifteen 75 lb SDHP's, AMRAP 15. That was a real puker after minute 12 or so. We did 13+ rounds on that one.

Throwing the med ball and chasing it for distance is also a deceptively tough one. You could incorporate a race of that type into a team WOD perhaps.
