Caffeine is the best source as far as giving you a jolt.

I think nothing beats a good diet. But, there are days where you just 'have it'...and you set PRs and all that good stuff. I wish I could replicate that day a lot more often.

Pro Supps "Mr.Hyde" is my go to PWO drink. Or if I want to go full turbo I dig into my stash of Craze.

In all seriousness though, a cup of black coffee 20-30 minutes preworkout works pretty well for me. Especially once I got away from taking lots of stimulants I am more consistent and don't feel dependent on getting my "fix" before I can workout. And by stimulants I mean various preworkout supplements.

If you're on a very tight budget and dead set on taking something, there's a couple of options:

Caffeine pill (~200mg), can find entire bottles for very cheap.

Axcel from AtLarge Nutrition. My wife likes these. It's pill form and serving size is 4 capsules, but we've found that 1 is enough to get the blood flowing and make you want to lift. If you take four caps, the effect is much like the image above. If you reduce the serving down to one capsule, this is about 30 cents a day, suuuuper cheap.
